In association with MSA (USA) & the Association for Cultural Enterprise (ACE) in the UK, the MSAANZ is laying claim to Museum Store Sunday (MSS), November 26, 2017 as THE day to shop and support museum stores worldwide. The goal is to encourage holiday shoppers to visit museum stores and experience the unique offerings of non-profit retailers. For 2017, November 26 is our date for stores at museums and other cultural institutions worldwide to claim for ourselves and put the spotlight on the unique retail experiences and meaningful gift giving provided.
Initiated by the Museum Store Association (MSA) the event has already gone global and MSA’s International Advocacy Committee is hard at work in developing a Museum Store Sunday brand identity, and plans for marketing, communications, sponsorships, events, promotions and an event website, www.museumstoresunday.org that will debut in September.
Museum Store Sunday participation is available to all non-profit retailers, including both MSAANZ members and non-members. MSAANZ members will receive a MSS marketing tool kit, as well as event and publicity assistance, so membership to the MSAANZ is highly recommended to any participant who wants to make the most of this fantastic new initiative.
